Reading an analogue clock

It was easy to put on the arrows.
It was hard to know where to put the arrows.
Next time I want to do harder ones.

Swimming

In term 4 we started swimming and this is me getting in the swimming pool. When we first started swimming the pool seemed freezing but I got used to it. The thing I like most about school swimming is that you get to do what you like at the end and you get to play with the equipment and have fun all the time even when you are doing the learning. Swimming is healthy and keeps you fit.

Summarising Simple Solution

For reading we were learning to summarise the text. We have done this by using the who, what, where, when, why and how questions. The book we were reading was called Simple Solution, it was about a truck that that got stuck.

I found it easy to read the book.

I found it tricky to think of something I thought was tricky.

Next time I need to work on thinking about the book more.

Post Card

    

In writing we have been learning to think about the writes point of view We are reading the book  

The Faraway Tree by enid blyton in class. The book is about a little girl called Connie whose mother is ill so she is sent to live with her mothers friend and her children. 

We have been talking about how connie might have felt and what she would have said to her mother. We wrote a post card to her mother trying to think about what connie would have said.

I found it hard to think about what to write .

I found it easy to take the screen shot.

Next time I need to work on writing more detail in my letter.

Story Telling

               During our Te Tuhi workshop creative stories we learnt about the different ways a story can be told. We explored our story the lorax through role play and then we created our posters. 

I found it hard to cut out the shapes. 

I found it  easy to glue the shapes. 

Next time i need to work on detail.

Volume Challenge

For maths week we have been learning about measurement. Yesterday we talked about volume. We learnt that to work out the volume of a shape we need to go length  x width x height. Our challenge was to work in pairs and create things using the unlink cubes all using volumes of eight. I found it easy to make the picture and organise the picture. I found it hard to have a volume of eight. 
Next time I need to work on having a volume of eight.

Blended Giraffe

I had to practice using different line and blending techniques to create a realistic looking giraffe. I found it easy to follow the teachers instructions to create the giraffe shape. It was difficult to keep all the parts in perspective. Next time I will try harder to use blending to show dark and light.

We were learning to identify what the author wanted us to feel, think or see.

We had to make this because it was a school project and we had to convince people to NOT cut down trees.

We made it in comic life.

It was easy to draw a picture to help show our opinion.

It was NOT easy to tell my group what I wanted to do.

Next time I will try to improve on listening to my group. We could have included more about our opinion.
